FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

What the service is, how access works, what it takes from your week, and why our numbers will disagree with your email platform's.

01

The service

What is marketing.pizza?

A marketing operating system for pizza locations. It builds and maintains the customer segmentation, runs the lifecycle journeys, sets cadence per customer, handles deferred discounting and the loyalty economics, maps the trade area, and measures the whole thing against holdouts rather than against platform-reported attribution.

Who is it for?

Pizza operators, from a single independent location to a franchise system. The work is the same shape at both ends; what changes is the governance around it: approvals, co-op funds and brand standards.

Is this just email marketing software?

No. Email is one of nine channels covered, and it is the cheapest rather than the most important. The system also covers SMS, direct mail, door drops, TV and streaming, radio, paid search, paid social, and the printed surfaces in the bag.

Do you send the messages for me?

The system decides who should be contacted, through which channel, at what time, with what offer, and holds a control group back. Delivery runs through your existing sending infrastructure, which keeps your consent records and your sender reputation where they already are.

What is deferred discounting?

Value issued at the completion of an order and redeemable only on a subsequent order, inside a window matched to that customer's own rhythm. It leaves today's margin intact, costs you only when someone actually returns, and buys an incremental occasion rather than subsidising one you already had.

02

Access and accounts

How do I sign up?

You do not sign yourself up. There is no self-service registration. We issue a username and password per operator after a conversation about your locations and your ordering system.

Why is there no self-service signup?

Because the first useful thing we do is look at your actual order data, and that needs a conversation rather than a credit card. We would rather turn someone away than take money for a set-up that will not tell them anything.

Can several people share one account?

Yes. Everyone signing in with the same account sees the same configuration, which is how a team works together today. Data captured on a given machine stays on that machine by default.

What happens if I stop paying?

The account stops and you keep your customer list, your history and anything we produced for you. We do not hold your data hostage to keep you paying.

03

The work

Who actually does the work?

We do the thinking and the system does the running. You decide the offers and the budget, and you keep control of every message that goes out. What you stop doing is rebuilding the same lists every week and guessing at what worked.

Will this replace my marketing person?

No, it makes one person able to run what normally takes a team. The jobs that get skipped when someone is busy, catching the regulars who went quiet, chasing the second order, reminding people about value they are holding, are the ones that run on their own.

How much of my time does it take?

Setup is a conversation and a look at your data. After that, a weekly half hour to approve what is going out and read what came back. The daily work is not yours to do.

What do I actually see each week?

Who is drifting and what it is worth, what is scheduled to go out and to whom, how much discount you gave and what it bought, and what is coming up on the calendar. In dollars, per store.

Can my whole team use it?

Yes. Everyone works from the same plan and the same numbers, which is the point. No more one person holding the marketing calendar in their head.

04

Data and compliance

Do you sell my data?

No.

Who is responsible for messaging consent?

You are, as the sender. We provide the consent architecture, the record-keeping structure and the suppression enforcement, but the legal obligation to have proper consent for your campaigns sits with the business sending them.

Is this legal advice?

No. The compliance chapters describe how consent works operationally and what a defensible record contains. For your own programme, take advice from a lawyer in your jurisdiction.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, in full, at any time, and we delete our copy on request. Most of it is already on your machines.

05

Measurement

Why do your numbers differ from my email platform's?

Because platforms report attributed revenue (everyone who saw a message and then ordered) while we report incremental revenue measured against a holdout. In a category where households order every couple of weeks anyway, the gap between those two figures is large and it always runs the same direction.

Is holding customers out of campaigns wasteful?

The forgone revenue on a ten per cent holdout is real and small. Running a marketing programme for years without knowing which parts of it work is much more expensive.

How long before I see results?

The second-order journey and drift detection typically show a readable difference within four to six weeks. Trade area work, loyalty economics and cohort improvement are quarters, not weeks. Anyone promising a transformation in a fortnight is selling something else.
